Want TV News? Visit TVOvermind.comI’ve heard about it this week end but i wanted to wait ABC press release to confirm it, they’ll repeat epi 5×08 lafleur on 11th march but no new episode this day, seem there is a break of one week before to get a new episode of lost epi 5×09 called “namaste”
We’ll have lafleur repeat and a new episode of the show called “life on mars” on 11th march

Yeh, we get it, there’s a break, “all show have break”. CelticFan96 was asking what the unforeseen circumstance might be since tptb had predicted no breaks, since they didn’t have a strike and no reason to go on hiatus this year.
@CelticFan96: I suspect the writing is catching up to them, and they’re becoming exhausted keeping to the deadline. They spoke about the pressures they’ve been facing this year in the recent audio podcast, and how many episodes they’re juggling at once, and that’s evident in the content this year. The 1 week break will likely give them a bit of leeway.
It’s frustrating as fans to have the constant stream interrupted, but hell, if it means they can brush up the writing and production for the rest of the episodes, then it’s a welcome break. I’m really losing faith in the show this year, there’s been some really glaringly bad sections of dialogue, acting and direction that just can’t be overlooked after the standard they’ve set prior. Hopefully they can iron some of that out.

I agree with you that some parts of this season have been lacking. And you’d think that since the show didn’t start until January that they’d have time to get things right: more time than other shows.
But on the other hand, I’ve enjoyed a lot of this season. It’s been cool to get some answers and the time traveling has been fun and weird in a Lost sort of way.
I hope that as the time jumping slows down and now that we have most main characters at the island, they can get back into their rhythm. Being stuck in Dharma times opens up so many possibilities.
But I don’t know how much can change in one week. I assume if they are taking a week off it is because the season finale is going to be two hours so they need to space out episodes to time things up right in May, which is a Sweeps month.
I havnt got this from any offical source, but i would imagine the week off is to coincide with sweeps week at the end of may. Most shows and almost all networks rap up thier big shows around the end the may. At the rate lost was going it would have had its last episode in the second week of may (which is kinda abnormal for a big show like lost). By taking off a week earlier in the season they avoid taking off a week later in the season which is bad because it interupts the storyline (that would be in full force at that time) and it avoids pissing off the most loyal and intellegent fanbase on the planet (us).
sigh. its sucks but if they have too….
Well I’m bummed about having to wait for the Skate and Surley reunions, but I’m happy that we at least get to see LaFleur before the break. Hope ABC gives us some good sneak peeks.

For the March 11th episode Ive decided Im just going to imagine there was a big white flash and that I must have went back in time one week and am watching the episode’s first airing….come on, it’ll be fun!!!!!!!!!! lalwlalalwlaue

There was always going to be breaks, they need them to spread it out so they have more episodes to screen during May sweeps. 17 episodes was never enough to cover it from when they decided to screen the premiere. Personally, I would have preferred it they pushed the premiere date back a few more weeks to early February instead off chopping it up with one week breaks like this just to cover the sweeps. I would expect another one around Easter time, and perhaps one more towards the end of season, such as a week off between the penultimate episode abnd the finale.

I find it funny people complaining about this season as regards to the story telling and acting. For one this is a network drama and not shown on HBO so you are going to have some questionable choices in both acting and writing. Secondly, did you watch the first 2 1/2 seasons? I mean I don’t know about you but I really miss those Shanon flashbacks!lol. COME ON. The last 2 seasons have been consistent and driven without the frivolity and sentimentality of the first two seasons. I really think people just make shit up to bitch.
this sucks. i thought the whole reason they switched to this format was to eliminate the presence of “breaks” or “recaps”. wasnt it supposed to play straight through, every week a new episode? thats it, im done with this show.
just kidding. my favorite thing on this planet next to my children and my gun collection is this show of ours. one week off, not a big deal in the big picture of things. cant wait.
ahhh… lost is the one thing i luk forward to the most in my super hectic life due to the stupid quarter system at my uni… 1 week will almost certainly feel lik 3 years… but i hope they use this break to improve on some of those super-confusing and mind boggling flashbacks that hav almost gone missing this season… just love faraday’s tie…
