Although Season 4 of Lost ended months ago, the lingering questions remain. I am particularly interested in the significance of The Tempest and the island’s volcano. Bear with me as I weave a few theories that intertwine both by applying geology and geography to the overall Lost canon and mythology.

This has been bugging me for a while, and as ridiculous as it may seem — I had to just get it out there.  There may be an overlooked clue in the frozen donkey wheel sequence that relates to season five of LOST.  Keep in mind this is all theory, there are no spoilers in this article at all.

If you watch the Youtube of the clip below, you’ll notice that as the purple-sky effect begins there is a whoosh for…

The official obituary of Jeremy Bentham (John Locke’s off-island pseudonym) mentions that he had a son. [Yes, I am aware that the producers have said that the obit was merely a prop, so these theories are innocent conjecture.]

No one attended Locke’s funeral; however, he had returned from the island and was probably operating in stealth mode under the Bentham alias. He certainly did not want to draw attention to the fact or attempt to explain why he was no longer…

UGO Asked me to come up with some ruminations on LOST’s remaining big mysteries.  Are there any solvable now?  Any good theories?  I gave it my best shot in the limited space, now let’s hear YOUR theories to these, or other, mysteries that may be out there.

This has nothing to do with any of the current acronyms
(ARG/DWY/OGR), but I thought it might be fun to take a closer look at Richard
Alpert and what his character represents to Lost. Let’s begin with a brief
introduction to a few terms and an integral person…

PANCHEN LAMA: The second highest ranking Lama after the
Dalai Lama. They form a Tulku reincarnation lineage.

TULKU: A Lama reincarnate, one who is reborn multiple times.

DR. RICHARD ALPERT (aka RAM DASS, servant of God): The real
Richard Alpert…

Given that the word ‘Panopticon’ entered the vernacular of many LOST fans after it was discussed at Comic-Con last week (when Damon and Carlton verified it as one of the reasons that Locke was given the pseudonym Jeremy Bentham), I thought it was time to delve into the real Bentham’s design and analyze how it relates to our vanishing island.

In 1785, philosopher Jeremy Bentham designed a circular prison building called a Panopticon, featuring a central observation tower surrounded by jail…

Hey guys, Tapdawg here!

So I’ve been stuck on one comment from Damon and Carlton at Comic Con. They said that for this season both flashbacks and flash-forwards would be used for story telling purposes but they also alluded to a third time of story-telling device which we haven’t seen really. They gave us an example of the Jin-Sun centric episode in season 4 in which Jin’s portion is a flashback and Sun’s portion is a flash-forward. This got me thinking…

As Locke was watching the Orchid video, we hear Halliwax warn “Now for your own safety and the safety of those around you, metallic objects must never… (warps and distorts) be placed within the vault.”

I was wondering. Did Ben place all the metal objects into the vault to 1) Cause a reaction that would blow a hole in the vault, there by exposing the access to the wheel 2) To disable the Dharma machine so no one could use it again…

There is no doubt that most of the fans of Lost want Locke to realize his destiny. But a major theme in Lost is the acceptance of that destiny, without letting ego rule a characters decisions. And Locke has a really big ego. His character, as written on the show, has been dealt some terrible hands in the card game of life. Yet, over and over, his misjudged determination puts him front and center to being the bully’s next victim.

I…

So why does Jack have to cart Locke’s carcass back to the island?  My theory is because it does not belong in the universe that the characters are in.

Proponents of a time/space injury sitting silently at the core of LOST’s overarching mystery will appreciate the notion that the presence of mass that shouldn’t exist, even a little, could easily be a cosmological nightmare.   I trust you’ve all seen Timecop?  No? Well, in Timecop a duplicate could not come in contact…

So the “Frozen Donkey Wheel” has come and gone, and the reactions seem to range from delighted to bemused to downright venomous.  Personally, I thought it was awesome.

From where I’m sitting, the wheel was a big twist in the regards that the Orchid station, as it turned out, really wasn’t responsible for moving the island.  The scene essentially took the thunder from the hands of Dharma and put it back into the hands of the mysterious ‘original’ occupants of the…
