Laurene received Steve’s entire share in Apple and Disney. According to an SEC filing, she sold about half of her Disney ownership, or 64.3 million shares, in 2017 for around $7 billion. Following the deal, she held around 4% of Disney’s total outstanding shares. Disney is not required to record her trades publicly because she is no longer over 5%. If she still holds the rest of her holding, those 74 million shares are worth $13 billion as of this writing. Every year, she receives around $120 million in cash dividends from Disney (officially, $60 million semi-annually).

Prior to attending business school, she worked for three years at the investment bank Goldman Sachs and for Merrill Lynch Asset Management. Powell Jobs also served on the board of Directions of Achieva, a company that develops online tools to help children study more effectively for standardised tests. Powell Jobs bought a share in Monumental Sports and Entertainment, which owns the NBA’s Washington Wizards, the NHL’s Washington Capitals, and the Capital One Arena, in October 2017. Her 20% holding makes her the company’s second-largest stakeholder, after only chairman Ted Leonsis.
