Jordan Knight is an American actor, singer and songwriter who is most well-known as the lead vocalist of the iconic boy band, New Kids on the Block. Jordan Knight’s net worth is $18 million dollars.

Jordan Knight Early Life

Knight was born in Worcester, Massachusetts on May 17, 1970. His parents are both Canadians from Ontario, and he possesses dual Canadian-American citizenship. He is the youngest of six children and was nurtured in a religious household because both of his parents are Episcopal priests. When he was younger, Knight participated in a baseball league, however he did not have much success and was frequently bullied because of his lack of athleticism.

When Knight was 14, his friend Donnie Wahlberg invited him to join a band named New Kids on the Block, which he had recently formed. Maurice Starr, an agent/producer, created the band. Knight, along with his elder brother Jonathan and a few other members, joined. In 1986, the band signed with Columbia Records and released their self-titled debut album. The record’s first two singles did not gain much broadcast, but owing to Starr’s dedication, the band was able to obtain a deal for a second album.

Dissatisfied with their first album’s too pop sound, the members of the band, including Knight, decided they wanted more say in how their second record sounded. Knight was given an associate producer credit on the album, titled “Hangin’ Tough,” which went on to be far more successful than their first following its release at the end of 1988. The album’s first song, “Please Don’t Go Girl,” peaked at number ten on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart. Their second and third hits catapulted them to fame, and they were soon performing to sold-out crowds. By the end of 1989, the album had reached the top of the Billboard 200 Albums Chart and had been certified eight times platinum.

Throughout the early 1990s, New Kids on the Block maintained their fame. They had a huge fan base, performed over 200 performances each year, and had several number one hits. However, their third album, released in 1994, failed to meet market expectations, and their fame began to dwindle. Knight’s elder brother Jonathan opted to leave the band in the mid-1990s owing to increased panic episodes, which resulted in the group’s official disbandment.
