Vladimir Putin’s Net Worth

Vladimir Putin is a Russian politician with a fortune of $70 billion. Throughout his tenure, which has included spells as both President and Prime Minister of Russia, Putin has established a highly contentious international reputation. He is presently in his second term as President of Russia, having taken office in 2012.

Early Life

Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin was born in Leningrad, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union on October 7, 1952.   His mother, Maria was a factory worker, and his father, Vladimir Spiridonovich, was a Soviet Navy conscript. He began learning Judo and sambo at the age of twelve and has a Judo black belt. He speaks German proficiently, having studied it at Saint Petersburg High School 281.

Putin earned a law degree from Leningrad State University (not Saint Petersburg University) in 1975. While in university, he met Anatoly Sobchak, co-author of the Russian constitution and an assistant professor of commercial law. He had a significant impact on Putin’s career.

Political Career

Putin’s political career began with a 16-year tenure in the KGB after receiving a law degree. He received his training at the 401st KGB school in Okhta, Leningrad. In 1984, he was dispatched to Moscow for further training at the Yuri Andropov Red Banner Institute after acting as a monitor of foreigners and consular officials in Leningrad. Following that, from 1985 until 1990, he served in Dresden, East Germany, under the guise of a translator. Following the fall of the Communist East German government, he went to Leningrad, where he reconnected with Anatoly Sobchak while working at the International Affairs division of Leningrad State University.

Sobchak, Putin’s old professor, was shortly elected Mayor of Leningrad, and Putin was named chairman of the Mayor’s Office’s Committee for External Relations. From then, he advanced his political career by holding numerous political and governmental roles. Putin was named Director of the Federal Security Service (FSB), the successor to the KGB and the premier intelligence and security institution of the Russian Federation, by then-President Boris Yeltsin in July 1998.

On August 9, 1999, Yeltsin nominated him interim Prime Minister of the Government of the Russian Federation, and later that day, Putin agreed to run for president after Yeltsin indicated his wish to have Putin as his successor. His first term as President ran from 2000 to 2008. Putin was previously Russia’s Prime Minister from 1999 to 2000, and again from 2008 to 2012. Putin has amassed a tumultuous reputation over the years. Other international leaders and political analysts routinely criticise him for his management of human rights and foreign policy concerns. Many Westerners have labelled the circumstances under which he has remained in power in Russia as “undemocratic.”

Nonetheless, Putin has maintained a high level of popularity among Russians since taking over as President in 1999, following the unexpected departure of Boris Yeltsin.

Vladimir Putin’s Billion Dollar Fortune

Putin’s yearly Presidential salary is listed at $187,000 in official disclosures (5.8 million rubles). In 2012, he declared 3.6 million rubles ($113,000) in earnings. Putin also claims to have a modest net worth of $180,000 in a savings account, a few Russian-made autos, and a 16,000 square foot parcel of property on Moscow’s outskirts. Lyudmila Putin, Putin’s ex-wife, has $260,000 in bank accounts. They claimed to have a net worth of less than $500,000 in total.

Many Russian insiders and academics think that Putin has used his authority to accomplish more than just better the lives of ordinary Russian citizens throughout his reign. While many previously state-owned enterprises were privatised, Putin is accused of using his position to create enormous covert ownership shares in numerous multibillion-dollar commodities firms. According to his most vociferous adversaries, Putin has used his influence to purchase a 4.5 percent share in natural gas producer Gazprom, a 37 percent stake in oil business Surgutneftegas, and a 50 percent stake in Swiss oil trader Gunvor.

Gazprom alone generates more than $150 billion in income each year, while Guvnor generates $80 billion and Surgutneftegas generates more than $20 billion. Putin’s aggregate ownership shares would give him a personal net worth of $70 billion based on their most recent market capitalizations.

Personal Life

On July 28, 1983, Putin married Lyudmila Shkrebneva. From 1985 until 1990, they resided in East Germany, where their daughter Yekaterina Putina was born. Mariya Putina, their other daughter, was born in Leningrad. They announced their divorce in June 2013, and it was verified in April 2014 that it had been completed.

Currently Vladimir Putin and Russia Ukraine war is in the limelight. He invaded Ukraine, and the consequence is yet to be witnessed.

Republic Records Deal and Departure from Big Machine

Between 2006 and 2017, Taylor produced six albums for Big Machine Records. When her contract with Big Machine expired in 2018, we discovered that her relationship with the firm and its creator, Scott Borchetta, had gotten difficult. Taylor’s principal goal in the negotiations was to reclaim ownership of her first six albums. Borchetta allegedly offered her a plan in which she would gain custody of her previous records one at a time when new albums were released over several years. Taylor, who was aware that Borchetta was considering selling his firm, subsequently said that she did not want to be sold to a new corporation.

She eventually elected to leave Big Machine and her back catalogue and negotiate a new long-term agreement with Republic Records, a Universal Music division. The revised agreement had two significant caveats: 1) From now on, she owns all of her master recordings. 2) She receives a higher percentage of the revenues from her song sales. Furthermore, if Universal ever sells its $1 billion interest in Spotify, Taylor will earn a sizable portion of the proceeds.

Real Estate

Taylor Swift’s real estate holdings are astounding. She owns around $90 million in real estate in the United States.

Nashville: At the age of 20, she purchased a downtown Nashville condo that is now worth $3 million. In 2011, she paid $2.5 million for a big mansion in Nashville’s outskirts.

Rhode Island: She spent $6.65 million in 2013 on a 12,000-square-foot waterfront mansion in Rhode Island.

Taylor has a $50 million apartment portfolio in New York City. Her Manhattan footprint began in 2014, when she purchased a Tribeca penthouse, which she later converted into a 10-bedroom duplex, which is now likely worth more than $20 million on its own. She paid $12.5 million for the 100-year-old four-story penthouse next to the duplex in 2017. She paid $10 million on another unit in her old building in February 2018.

Los Angeles: She resides in a $30 million house in Los Angeles, which she purchased in September 2015.

Muhammad Ali was born on January 17, 1942 in Louisville, Kentucky as Cassius Marcellus Clay, Jr. Ali was the sixth of six children and was named after his father, Cassius Marcellus Clay Sr. His father was employed to make billboard signs, while his mother, Odessa O’Grady Clay, raised Cassius and his younger brother at home. He attended Louisville’s Central High School and suffered with a learning disability throughout his education. Cassius saw several instances of racial injustice and prejudice growing up in a segregated society, such as being denied a sip of water at a shop. He was deeply moved by the 1955 murder of Emmett Till, which prompted him and a companion to vandalise a local railyard in protest.

Muhammad Ali Early Career

At the age of 12, Muhammad Ali became interested in boxing after his bike was stolen and he fell into frenzy at the scene of the crime. Clay’s wrath was noticed by a police officer on the scene, who suggested him to channel it into boxing. Cassius teamed up with boxing instructor Fred Stoner to win several championships, including six Kentucky Golden Gloves, two National Golden Gloves and an Amateur Athletic Junior Title.

Muhammad Ali’s made his debut in 1954, defeating local fighter Ronnie O’Keefe. Chuck Bodak was his coach for the last four years of his amateur career. As an amateur, his greatest success was winning the light heavyweight gold medal in the 1960 Rome Olympics. He has a 100-5 win-loss record as an amateur.

Muhammad Ali Professional Boxing Career

Clay returned to Louisville after the Olympics, where he began his professional career. He made his winning debut on October 29th, 1960, and he went three years without losing. 15 of the 19 fights were decided by knockout. Clay’s unique boxing style spread magic in the world of boxing. Clay used his agility to evade blows and kept his hands low, unlike other boxers of his height and build who used their hands high to defend the face.

Clay soon established a name for himself in the industry. He was famed for correctly predicting the round his fellow fighter would go down. His assumptions were right on the mark seven times. He also started mocking his opponents prior to each match. Cassius quickly rose to the top of the contender list to face incumbent champion Sonny Liston. Even though Clay had an incredible record, he was still the underdog going into the battle. Clay eventually defeated Liston and, at the age of twenty-two, became the youngest competitor to ever dethrone a heavyweight champion.

When Cassius joined the Nation of Islam in 1964, he changed his name to Muhammad Ali. He declined to be recruited into the military in 1966, claiming religious convictions and opposition to the Vietnam War for the denial. Ali was apprehended and charged with draft evasion. He had his boxing championships removed from him, but he challenged the verdict to the Supreme Court.

Muhammad Ali had his boxing championships removed from him, but he challenged the verdict to the Supreme Court. In 1971, his sentence was reversed, but he had been out of the ring for four years and had lost his peak physical capability. Civil Rights advocates praised and backed Ali’s refusal to be conscripted, with Al Sharpton speaking out about Muhammad Ali’s bravery and energising force behind the fight. Ralph Abernathy, a civil rights pioneer, presented him with the Martin Luther King Award in 1970. In an address at the event, Coretta Scott King said Ali was a “champion of justice, peace, and harmony.”

Later that year, Ali took part in what was termed “the battle of the century” when he faced heavyweight champion Joe Frazier at Madison Square Garden on March 8th. The battle lived up to its reputation, with the two unbeaten boxers going 15 rounds back and forth. Frazier would win the fight in the end, handing Muhammad Ali his first professional defeat. Ali and Frazier were to go on battling each other twice more. Because Frazier had previously lost his championship to George Foreman, their next battle was not a title match.

Ali defeated Frazier this time, setting up a battle with Foreman. Because the match between Ali and Foreman took place in Kinshasa, Zaire, it was called “The Rumble in the Jungle.” In 1981, Ali entered the battle as the underdog and stunned the world by defeating Foreman to reclaim the heavyweight championship. In the ring, Ali was known for trash-talking, and his spoken-word poetry mirrored hip-hop and rap. Muhammad Ali was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Syndrome in 1984. Ali’s speech and motor abilities were snatched away by the condition. Despite this setback, he was never surrendered. He fought against the disease until he could. He was granted the privilege of igniting the Olympic torch in 1996. Ali is the only three-division heavyweight champion in history. He will almost certainly be remembered as one of the greatest heavyweight champions of all time.

Sadly, Muhammad Ali’s death embraced him on June 4, 2016. He died of septic shock at the age of 74 in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Michael Jackson Net Worth

Like I said, Michael Jackson’s Net Worth was negative $500 million. Let’s find out how. To maintain his lavish lifestyle, Jackson took a loan of $380 million from Bank of America, using his 50% ownership share in the music publishing corporation Sony/ATV as security. The interest alone was in the tens of millions of dollars every year. He burned the whole $380 million plus $120 million down in a few of years. As a result, when Michael Jackson died in 2009, he was $500 million in debt. Michael Jackson’s age at death was 50 years. Google flooded with one question, “how did Michael Jackson die” for months after his death.

Michael Jackson Music Catalogue

Michael’s most important resource at the day of his demise was his music catalogue. While the copyright worth of Michael’s own songs was assessed to be valued at $100 million, the crown gem of his total assets was his arrangement of other artist’s songs, particularly those from The Beatles.

Michael’s initial journey into music rights ownership commenced in the early 1980s, when he bought the catalogues of Sly and the Family Stone. He then purchased a number of iconic singles, including “Great Balls of Fire,” “When a Man Loves a Woman,” “Shake Rattle Rattle and Roll”  and “Runaround Sue,” to name a few. The biggest triumph, however, came in November 1984, when Michael paid $47.5 million for The Beatles’ ATV music collection. The Beatles catalogue was subsequently amalgamated with Sony to form a 50/50 joint company known as Sony/ATV, which is now valued at $2-4 billion.

Michael Jackson Sony Collaboration

Sony approached Michael with an unbelievable offer in 1995. Sony offered him $95 million (about $230 million today) to integrate ATV music with their portfolio and form a new 50/50 controlled publishing powerhouse. Michael accepted and immediately doubled his initial investment while also earning 50% ownership of a much larger music publishing firm. Furthermore, Jackson retained exclusive ownership of his own music through a separate corporation named Mijac Music.

Michael Jackson Earning and Expenses

Jackson earned around $500 million through his own songs, performances, videos, and sponsorships over his career, but at the time of his death in 2009, he was basically $500 million in debt. After spending all of his money on an intricately sophisticated and lavish lifestyle, Jackson was left bankrupt. He spent $30 to $50 million a year on his lifestyle alone, and he piled up enormous unpaid bills with his lawyers, agents, and publicists. Here are a few highlights:

  • The Neverland Ranch cost him $17 million to acquire, plus $5 million in annual upkeep fees.
  • A child molestation claim was settled for $20 million.
  • $65 million on video projects, including the 35-minute movie “Ghosts,” which he co-wrote with Stephen King.
  • Divorce settlement of $12 million with lover Debbie Rowe.
  • $5 million in yearly debt interest payments
  • Tens of millions of dollars have been spent on Bentleys, clothing, antiques, art, diamond-encrusted gloves, and other things.

Jackson borrowed $380 million against the value of his song library to support his continuous luxurious lifestyle. The pop artist was notoriously naive about money, and he had an exaggerated sense of his new value. He entered a vortex of financial transactions with banks, hedge funds, and other unscrupulous people at the end of his life in an attempt to preserve his lifestyle while staging a professional and financial comeback.

Who Inherited Michael Jackson’s Estate?

Michael Jackson’s executors have made an ambitious financial comeback in the years since his death. One of their main aims was to get the estate back on track so they wouldn’t have to sell his beloved music collection.

Michael’s will specifically left 40% of his assets to his three children, to be distributed equally. Another 20% was donated to other children’s organisations, with the remaining 40% going to his mother Katherine. When Katherine dies, the 40 percent balance goes to Michael Jackson’s kids, which means his three children will eventually share 80 percent of the inheritance.

Among the many passions of Michael Jackson, kids were among his favourites. He loved kids. Whether or not he assaulted kids is still a controversy. But, his love for kids is clearly visible in his will.

Michael Jackson Estate Net Worth Post Death

Ironically, dying was probably the best thing that ever happened to Michael’s finances. In the years since he died on June 25, 2009 he has consistently been the highest-earning dead celebrity on the planet. Beginning almost right after Michael’s death, his executors moved to shore up the pop star’s finances. They immediately sold Michael’s future music rights to Sony for $250 million, which at the time was the largest record deal in history of pop music. His attorneys also went through hours upon hours of personal home video from the last year of Michael Jackson’s life to create the film “This Is It,” which was released in theatres worldwide. Till date, the film grossed more than $500 million. Following the popularity of the film and the record contract, several more endorsers approached him. Pepsi hit a deal to licence Michael’s picture. Cirque du Solei created two performances in Las Vegas based on Michael’s music and image. On both shows, Jackson’s estate is a 50/50 partner with Cirque du Solei. Furthermore, Michael Jackson left tens of thousands of personal artefacts and mementos in three massive warehouses in Southern California. The artefacts will be preserved until all three of his children reach the age of 18, after which they can decide whether or not to auction off Michael Jackson’s belongings.
