I've been doing the freeze frame thing on Via Domus and pondering whether the game clashes with the "reality" of Lost. For a peek at my findings...

It looks like they say:
Pala Ferry
Looking Glass
Hydra
I don't believe that playing the game is required, much in the same way that the Lost Experience, Bad Twin, or find815 were "required". They give us a deeper understanding to the show, but (it would seem) are not vital to understanding the show in general.
The trailer has some interesting stuff in it. The new viewables on the blast door map look to include areas that might not have been concretely conceived during season 2. It may also have some other interesting tidbits.
More interesting than the blast door map, imo, was the shot of (I assume) Ezra James Sharkington inside the Looking Glass (I think) with wires attached to him/coming out of him.
Regardless, I'll be picking up the game anyway.
It looks as if there is 4 extra hatches int hat picture and not 3 like he had mentioned in the article. Some other red blob next to The Arrow Station. Anyone see what that says?
The things in the map aren't necessarily hatches and aren't necessarily vitally important to the Lost storyline. However they do enhance it and that's cool. I think this is perfect in keeping with the idea that the game will show fans cool interesting things to enhance the mythology, but nothing important enough to affect the storyline or clues to the main show.
If you look closely at one of those things you can see in the top left corner is labeled Pala Ferry. So all we're really gaining out of that is the fact that Radsinsky (or whoever drew this layer of the map), knew about the Pala Ferry.
Here is a more clear screenshot:

You can see:
Hydra at lower right
Looking Glass at lower left
Palla Ferry at upper left
Barracks between arrow and C3
Under deleted station says: "Possible Orchid Station"
There are also some others transcripts near Hydra,Looking glass, flame station and C3 that i can't read.
So as they said at blue ray extras the BDM has more info to reveal :)
Yep, cypher nailed it. These aren't "new" hatches, they're merely season 3 additions, likely added to the map under this "new spectrum" to make it appear that they were "known" even during Season 2 when none of us had even heard about them (and had likely not been fleshed out by the writers yet.)
Other things I noticed:
- The barracks are noted as "hostile controlled"
- Quid est Veritas (looks like veritus on the map though) - "What is truth(fullness)?"
- The Pala Ferry is in an odd position to me. It's served two purposes noted on the show: to shuttle people from the barracks to the hydra (noted in the orientation film Rodger and Ben saw) and for workers in the Pearl to get shuttled back to the barracks. It seems odd that the Pearl workers would have to go all the way to the ferry to go home, or that workers from the barracks would have to go to the ferry to go to the hydra -- the 4 locations seem oddly spread out.
I don't want to spend too long pouring over the shot of the map because I have this sneaking suspicion that we'll get to look at it to our heart's content within the game.
