If we assume that ep 1 of season 6 opens at LAX and all of the Losties get off the plane like the were supposed to and retain all those memories of the island isnt it possible that maybe Kate does something she might not have normally done because of those memories? Maybe in this way they will be able to alter the larger timeline and not just what happened at the Incident....you know, free will and all. Locke was supposed to substitute Christian Shepard as a 'proxy'. To drive the point home, Jack even had to add his dead fathers shoes. All we know is that Locke stayed up dead in the version of 2007 in which the Ajira flight touched down. Personally, I'd like to see him go 6-for-6 before the show is out.
