    It’s a bit… boring.

  2. OCKi says:

It’s not boring, its simplistic and it would look lovely on my livingroom wall.
The thing I love about these LOST posters, is that they don’t “scream” fanboy..
The motives (with a few exceptions) are so sublime that only LOST-fans will recognize them, and non-LOST-fans will think it looks art-ish (and that you’ve gone nuts)..

Regarding this poster, I hear that the whole statue isn’t viewable for the naked eye in some angles. =)

  3. Funback Joe says:

Im a huge lost fan and this one is pretty tired. Not as bad as the Dharma van and the children’s drawing of Jack looking at the monitors

  4. ForwardSlash says:

i thought these posters would be ace, only 2 of the 6 so far have been good!we know the ones…the only ones that seem to sell out! this is a boring poster. Shame.

  5. GeigerCounter says:

    This poster is awesome.
They are all pretty good, actually. Modern design at work, people. Boring? No.

And as for the “children’s drawing of Jack,” I would like to see you do better, Funback.

  6. Casey says:

Forget the quality of the poster and think about the ideas it presents. There is a clear motif here. Most of the statue in darkness, the only part in the light is the part we know to exist in the “present” time. Initially I just accepted the fact that the statue must have fallen at some point and the foot was all that remains, but is that really the case?

Where did the other foot go? If the statute simply fell over, both pieces of the base, i.e. both feet would still be there. For one foot to be removed, it would have to be lifted from the ground and moved. It wouldn’t just topple away. So if it was a natural collapse, both feet should still be there.

I digress…the point is, Jacob is the light, Unlocke is the dark. The only part of the statue to survive “the dark” is the part inhabited by (and protected by) Jacob.

It’s a simple drawing, but it says a lot.

  7. ZooBot23 says:

I like it. And, I love the Dharma van one, so I bought it!

  8. Chris Bacon says:

These posters just keep getting worse. The Locke one is still the best I think.

  9. elginmiller says:

This is the best one yet.

  10. wnt2kno says:

I still like the jack / triangle poster the best.

  11. The Magician says:

The Locke one was great. Also loved the blue comic book style one of the crash, Jack and Locke.

This would’ve looked better if the image of the statue was a bit more detailed. As it is,

basic design + basic art = fairly basic overall.

The design and idea itself is good, but with better artwork it could’ve been great.

  12. The Magician says:

Casey, you are reading too much into it, btw. It is simply showing the rest of the statue that is no longer there.

  13. Chelo says:

I really wish they would have shown all of these at once, and then just put them for sale one at a time. I loved the Locke one and wish I got it before it sold out, but I wanted to see if there would be one that I liked more. I dig the poster idea, just sort of a bummer how they’re doing it.

    • kiwi-lostie says:

Yeah me too! Dont have funds for too many of these at all, and the niggling thought that the next one coming might be the best… but who knows. Do I wait or do I buy? Still self-flagellating over the fact I missed out on The Crash!

  14. Dusty Pearson says:

I also wish they would’ve put them all on sale at one time. Would’ve also helped in letting people get the one they really wanted. As it is now, unless you sit at your computer waiting for the poster to go on sale, you run the risk of not getting it. Sucks too cause the only one so far I really loved was the crash poster and by the time I saw it was available, it was sold out. I’ve even offered $150 for it and no takers. I’ve limited myself to 4 of them. I’m hoping for one of the hatch, donkey wheel, and smoke monster.

  15. congested says:

Who is to say that Casey’s interpretation is “too much?” It’s subjective, no? It’s a well thought out take on the poster in my opinion, whether or not I looked at it from the same perspective. :/

    • The Magician says:

Of course it’s subjective; if he presented his analysis as subjective I would have said nothing. But

“I digress…the point is, Jacob is the light, Unlocke is the dark. The only part of the statue to survive “the dark” is the part inhabited by (and protected by) Jacob.”

Sounds as though he is putting words (and concepts) into the artist’s proverbial mouth. if you were going to a piece of concept art showing the rest of the statue, you would do it on a black background for maximum impact (as the artist has done). Simple aesthetic reasons, not to encode any secret ideas or ‘motifs’.

  16. kiwi-lostie says:

Ok, here we go. What do you all think about the look of the poster and that it really looks like the right foot is being shown as being there, even though its the left foot that should be shown? Is the poster just plain wrong (which I find hard to believe), or by the end of S6 will the poster be correct!!??…
I would think that the each print would be checked/approved before production, wouldnt you?
That brings another question – is there something in each print that is a clue towards number 16, you know, the whole “15 will be lost, the 16th will be found” line. Like the funny coloured monitor number in the Love Triangle print.
Please sound off – I would be facinated to hear your thoughts. Charlie.

  17. Okan says:

    Tihs poster is awesome !

It means that the whole statue is there but we can not see it.

These creators are really crazy !!!
