If I remember correctly he something to the effect of:

It’s disappointing that the one black character on the show seems to have been stereotyped as having a dysfunctional relationship with his son… and that the writers didn’t bring enough closure to his character.

I wasn’t a Michael fan either, but rewatching S1 now, they really did drop the ball with the character. His flashbacks were duds but Michael himself had a lot going on. I understand his disappointment with what they did with him. If there’s a chance yet for redemption, I’ll be glad to see it.

I also remember him having some harsh words after season 4. (But, I don’t remember specifically what he said.) In light of that, his comments in this article did surprise me.

Didn’t he have quite harsh words when he was signed off in season 4? Like, “WTF, you make me come back, all that for what, 3 episodes and then kill me? Duuudes!”. I even seem to recall he played the racial card, but I’m not positive. If he did, he’s a douche.

As for his character on the show, I wouldn’t mind if he came back personally. While he’s far from being my favourite character, he was interesting. Not all the time though, but he had some great scenes.

Yes i read it in tv guide. he is right about one thing, it seems like the character’s relationship with Walt didn’t get resolution. Let’s hope we get that in season 6.

I’ve always thought that there was something a bit off with Michael’s last scene. Christian said to him, “You can go now, Michael.” He didn’t say, “You can die now” or anything resembling death. So what’s to say he didn’t get shot across time like everyone else or maybe sent to the rumored alternate universe. Where did he “go” to? I think he truly died but with all of these new mysteries, the phrase “You can go now Michael,” seems to have different meaning to me.

He was disappointed the way is character was handled. The story of his redemption was cut short due to the Writer’s Strike and he said some things that may have been said in frustration or a bit out of context. I think most people (Lindeloff and Cuse especially) were disapointed with Michael’s story, but there was not much that could have been done about it. It’s too bad.
