No, I don’t think so. It’s obviously Michael, I mean: the obit Jack tore out of the paper mentioned an artist hanging himself (using a non-Michael Dawson name), that he left behind a teenaged son, the funeral home is in a black part of Los Angeles and nobody showed up. Even my dad, who’s kinda slow about making connections with stuff that happened in previous seasons said “Oh yeah, the guy in the coffin is Michael” after 0408.

As for Christian, Charlie said it best: “I am dead, but I’m also here”. I wish they would have killed off Jack in the pilot like they had originally planned and kept Pops Shepherd, he’s a much better character IMO.

I’m with DV and Evan on this one. I’m thinking that Jack seeing his dead father is what brings him to become Uncle Drinks-a-lot. He needs to get back to the island and the only way is through Ben. But Ben dies and he decides to kill himself. But he can’t, because the island isn’t done with him yet. The book says, “We might be through with the past, but the past ain’t through with us.”

Did I mention that I think it’s Ben in the coffin?
