Want TV News? Visit TVOvermind.comYou thought you’d seen the last of her, but she’s back. That’s right, Ana Lucia. Michelle Rodriguez is confirmed for at least one episode of LOST, the question is… will she appear as an island ghost, or does this mean there is at least one character flashback in our future.
Some fans may not be overly excited about this since she was one of the characters fans couldn’t wait (seemingly) to get rid of. Her exit was made bitter-sweet by the conjoined exit of Cynthia Watros. The introduction since then of Paulo and Nikki have sort of softened – for me at least – any feelings of out and out disdain for Ana. Compared to them, I’d rather have Doctor Arzt come back as the defacto leader of the island peep. Wait a minute, what am I saying? That would be a brilliant idea.

Just like I never got the Nikki & Paulo hate, I never got the Ana-Lucia hate. Oh…..wait…..it was the Jaters who freaked because she was intended as a love interest for Jack and it was the fans of the original cast who were all “OMG! OMG! Now we won’t have James having Hugo kill tree frogs”. I thought they did a pretty good job with her story arc, we’ll probably see her as a Christian-like ghost. Damn, that Island is sure filling up with ghosts who take on physical form!
If the episode is a Hurley-centric one, then her appearance makes perfect sense so I like it. Hurley would definitely see her out of guilt after the police officer last season asked him about Ana.
I’d rather see Libby come back. When are we going to get closure on that story?
What can I say! I’ve never hated Ana Lucia, not Niki and Paulo either.(I’ve only had problems with Kate, I can’t stand her…, with Jack in an honorable second position), but whatever.
I just hope that she won’t comeback just to hold blankets, like Libby in the last season.
I was mad they killed her character off. I was a Ana fan. I’m still sad over that but I’m glad she’s going to come back for another episode!
I never understood “hating” any of the characters really. Yeah, like Graham I have been unbelievably frustrated by Jack and Kate, but if they weren’t as indepth and three-dimensional as they are I wouldn’t care. I’ve alway liked Michele Rodriguez and I just think that the way Niki and Paulo were introduced had a major affect on how they were received (Paulo being smarmy to Desmond didn’t help). I’ve been dying for an Ana Lucia return.
Ana Lucia was hands down the best female character on Lost. She was by far the most interesting. When you go back and rewatch the entire series, it’s pretty easy to see that.
ok so the fans get annoyed with certain characters and sure, i wasn’t the biggest ana lucia fan, but i’m damn excited to see that she’ll be making a re-appearance, and im sure i speak for pretty much everyone there. even if nikki or paulo were confirmed to make an appearance, no matter how much you disliked them, you’d still be pretty excited to see how and why they would be coming back.
keep bringing back as many of the dead as possible. deep down i love them all!
actually saying that, if juliet dies i wouldnt wanna see her make a return. bugger off.
First Libby, now Ana Lucia, that can only mean one thing about the next returnee..
EEEEKKKOOOOOO
the only thing that annoyed me about ana was that it played from the michelle rodriguez stereo-type “tough chick” backwards. Darlton answered that criticism by saying they showed people what they expected first, then tried to add layers… but that is so bogus. It was just surprising to see Lost do anything ‘expected’. But I think if you take Rodriguez out, you lose the sense that the tailies were aggressive survivors. Sure, Eko was tough, but M-Rod/Ana really created that persistent halo of… HELL! I love ana now! See what you’ve done?
Lost writers overuse of “damsels in distress”/weak female characters (Kate, Claire, part time-Juliet, Sara, Shannon,…).So, when they create a tough woman(Rousseau, Ana ), I find it refreshing, even if they do it by using stereotypes. The bad thing is that they all end dead.
I’m not an AL fan, but I didn’t hate her either (N/P are another story). However, as far as I’m concerned, there’s nothing left of the AL story so why do we need to see her again? The same can not be said for Libby and Danielle. I am anxiously awaiting their return.
well, confirmed for 1 episode isnt enough for me to get all excited about. rodriguez was maybe the foxiest chick on LOST. loved seeing her with guns and kicking ass. we’ve already seen her flashback, dont really need to go into that anymore. probably show up as undead, dead, ghost, whatever to hurley (im with forgiventhewarlord). hurley did lie about knowing her, shame shame. p.s. that pic of her on rocks is soooo hot!
I think the funniest thing about the whole nikki and paulo is that they were created by the same whining fans that killed them. The same people who pissed and moaned about N+P were the same ones demanding to get to know some of the red shirts. I, for one, didn’t mind them…but also enjoyed how their story was more quickly wrapped up.
I enjoyed the tailies, and I’m on board for whatever Damon+Carlton are cooking up with anna lucia.
Welcome back Ana Lucia. Should be fun. But of all the tailies I wish it was Mr Eko who was coming back – what a wonderful character.
The trouble with Niki & Paulo was the way they were introduced – it was so artificial and they were kind of too good looking to have not been noticed before. The way they brought in the DocArzt character was done right (I wish HE’d stayed around – that would have been fun).
Rewatching season one recently I notice that they had different red shirts say the odd word and their names were mentioned – this seemed much more natural. Now after Niki & Paulo DamonCarlton have gone too far the other way – no mention or words from any of them at all – too focussed on the ‘ruling group’.
Seeing the title of the post we were ready to rip out our clothes, waiting to see the one and only lost hero that left the show before his time. But not only we didn’t see Mr. Eko coming back to finish the work but instead it is Ana Lucia that makes all the way back to the island. If we’re talking about false hope, that’s prbably it.
Everyone will be back by the end? Or 1 by one we will see everyone again before Series Final. Awesome to see Some LATIN FLAVA back in LOST. hehe….I think she will be involved with Christian Shepard seen.
I agree, completely with Colonel Corn. Although, how come Ana-Lucia never had dirty or ripped jeans in all her time on the Island? Eko’s shirt was torn to shit after only a little while. Season 2 is still my favorite, mostly because of these two, the Hatch, and Locke!
I never hated her character, I just hated Michelle Rodriguez’s acting!!! God, talk about a one trick pony. She’s a badass, we get it, wanna show us any other emotional range or anything? It’s too bad actually because as soon she started to she got shot.
I was just starting to like Ana when she got shot. Defintiely hated her at first. I’m excited to see her back though. Bring back Eko.
I’m glad she’s coming back. Just because she wasn’t a crowd favorite doesn’t mean she wasn’t important. If they didn’t bring her back just because of that, it would make the show less interesting. Why would Libby come back but not Ana Lucia? To appease some stupid fans? That’s lame. If they could get Mr. Eko back, that would be great too.
I was kind of upset she was killed off in the first place.
If anyone remembers, when the show first started, Sawyer tested as the #1 hated character on LOST…Now look at him. He’s arguably the #1 favorite. Ana Lucia was heading in the same direction. A badass whose self-centered attitude comes off as entertaining and funny to those paying attention.
Or maybe it has something to say about a double standard. A guy can be a jerk and come off as a charming, but no one likes a bitch. Oh well. Still glad he’s coming back.
I have to agree with Benrocks. The AnaLucia character was a really good one but the acting was pretty one dimensional. I’d find myself tuning out whenever she appeared on screen.
