Well, that was a bit better than the other ABC promos. At least this time they chose to pair a good song choice (Willie Nelson’s haunting “Amazing Grace”) with some well-chosen character images. Enough of the booming voice-over!
Finally a good promo.
Wow wow wow let’s not be too quick. I’d say “finally a DECENT promo”, personally. But you know what? I think it’s better this way. I think it’s clear by now that these guys don’t WANT to show anything from the new season, and I really like that. That means we won’t be spoiled the tiniest bit – not from them at least. It builds (to me at least) an unprecedented level of excitement for the new season. It makes me feel like that last seasno is going to be so damn HUGE. And by now we can finally say that it’s coming SOON!
Can’t wait to see how it all ends. I’m a little bit sacred when I read that it’s going to be much like season 1, character-centric. I hope there’s still be a bunch of their wonderful mythology in it.

Much better. To those defending that last ABC promo — this is what we want. If you don’t see the difference, then I can’t help you.
Hmmm, no Sayid? Should I deduce something from that? Probably not. Right?
But at least they’re showing Claire.
“Amazing Grace” is a very overused song, but Willie Nelson’s is the best version of a song that I’m sick of hearing in commercials. The line “I once was lost,” played during a Lost commercial, feels a little cheesy.
I think that they should make a point of saying that no season six footage is being shown. It would make these promos feel less generic and boring. Or at least give a reason why they are so.
It’s not just that line that makes it relevant, though. The whole song is about redemption. And Nelson’s version transforms it into a hard-earned redemption (which it is not in the original).
Plus Lost is no stranger to Nelson’s repertoire. “Shotgun Willie” played in Because You left
As well as “Are You Sure” in “House of the Rising Sun”
And haven’t they already said there will be no season 6 footage in the promo’s until the season starts?
Name a bunch of commercials that have used Amazing Grace. I can’t think of any.
