Superb blog! Do you have any suggestions for aspiring writers? I’m planning to start my own site soon but I’m a little lost on everything. Would you propose starting with a free platform like WordPress or go for a paid option? There are so many choices out there that I’m completely confused .. Any tips? Thanks!

I think with as many characters and storylines crossing as there are, a couple minor continuity errors are inevitable. But they need to admit to even small screw ups as soon as possible, since even smaller details sometimes end up being clues. They already said Charlotte wasn’t really born in 1979 but actually in 1970. I’m fine with minor things like that but they need to discount it as a clue.
I’ll say it’s possible that the orientation video was a version made within the last few months (in 1977), and the Swan plans were already well underway to build it.

“We need to know the difference between a clue and a screw up. For instance, the Swan insignia on Chang’s labcoat at a point in time when Radzinsky had yet to invent it. Clue? Or screwup?”

I really want to get an answer to that question. Chang wears that labcoat in the early/mid-70′s when speaking for the Dharma Welcome Film (which technically looks pretty up to date to me, more like a 90′s videotape). The Swan Station hasn’t been build in 1977…

Or they were planning way ahead or this is a miserable continuity error?
Who’s gonna save Darlton’s honor?

I’m curious as to if others are sure that the rest of the 316-ers positively landed in 2007. It seems obvious they did, but the fact that the numbers are still being broadcast and the long dock is still there, and DI orientation house looks abandoned (as opposed to being taken over as part of New Otherton), makes me wonder if they are possibly either in some other year or some other 2007. Any thoughts?

Items (the well rope) and information (that’s the fact Jack) may be part of an ontological paradox as alluded to, but this may not be so. Things have already changed Ethan Goodspeed, No Otherton, and Numbers back on the air. The circle has been broken! Where we go from here is anybody’s guess. Any guesses?

SuperFishial (after every Epi I’m always waiting for the Fish). I would have pointed out more deeply the meaning of CHANGE in this epi, though (change of future, change of past, change of aircrash, change of job, change of clothes..).

By the way the Charlotte’s “birth-in-1979-question” has been definitely solved by Lindelof-Cuse in the last audio podcast. Consider it a production mistake: Ben (back in S4) should have said 1970 instead of 1979, so there’s no mystery at all: Charlotte was born in 1970, hence the little girl Daniel sees in 1974 is Charlotte for real. No more arguing.

Radzinsky was a Dharma Intitiative acolyte who escaped the Purge

D’OH!! Wow, that never had occured to me, that Radzinsky was, as Ben said, “one of the one’s that was smart enough NOT to end up in that ditch”.

So, I guess we can assume that Radzinsky did the blast door map not because he was out exploring the Island on his breaks, but because he left it for someone in the future to see.

Nice to see Fishbicuit mentioning “The List”. I had thought about the same explanation to who was on it when we learned who of the O6 finally made it back to the island in 316. The reason why Sayid and Jin are missing is simple:

Ben needed Jack to remove his cancer. Therefor he wanted to get Kate & Sawyer (already knowing their love issues from his own past) to play the ace when necessary. Hurley had to inform the other 815ers not to cross the ways of the Others again.

I thought also that Sayid should be a part of it. But Ben did spend a fair amount of time with Sayid in the Swan in Season 2.

But Jin… The only thing I can think of is that he barely spoke any English then. Also, remember, it was Sayid, Jin and Sun who sailed around the island while those on the list walked toward capture.

But, this was rather interesting, Fish. It looks like things heat up next week…

Great summary of the episode! I especially agree with your false utopia connection between Dharmaville and Jonestown. I would also make the connection between the Island and the 60′s TV show The Prisoner.
