Former friends allum Matthew Perry has said that he would return to TV if the offer of a role in Lost came to the table.
Matthew claimed he is a big fan of Lost, but knows that after being stereotyped on television as Chandler Bing from friends, his chances are slim.
Matthew says, “I want to be on that show so bad, but people would be like, ‘What’s Chandler doing on the island?’ So it isn’t going to happen. But I am truly addicted to the show. I even follow the story lines online.”
Knowing this it seems Matthew Perry is possibly a blog and forum follower like the rest of us, you never know who is lurking!

He could be here, on this site, RIGHT NOW!
Personally I got so used to Lost being full of unfamiliar faces that it throws me off whenever I see someone I recognize from something else on the show.
Like my immediate thought of “What is the problem with Michael Jackson?” upon Caesar’s arrival.
I was wondering where I had seen Ceaser before, Three Kings. That was a disturbing scene. And subject matter.
I can picture him cast as a “Frogurt” type character from flight 316! (snickering)
It would be great to see him on LOST! Hopefully in a role that does not rely on his comedic talents. Let him expand people’s idea of him while he graces the bestshow on TV!
I wouldn’t mind if he was some random Dharma schmuck in the background, but I think it would take me out of the story too much to see him as an actual character in the story line.
How cool would it be, if he dropped a comment on this article? Wouldn’t that make him the coolest actor in the world?
I agree with most of you. As much as I enjoyed Chandler Bing (the only legitimately unique character on that TV show), having a character we have already associated with another “brand” would be distracting and probably not serve the overall story very well. Matthew Fox and Dominic Monaghan were already recognizable actors when the show began, but their fame was not so worldwide (hard to recognize Monaghan completely out of the hobbit costume) as to make them distracting. Nonetheless, kudos to Matthew Perry for being no different than the rest of us! Sweet!
he was awesome on Studio Sixty in a dramatic/comedic role. I think he could do it.
i agree he was great in studio 60 i was surprised how well he made the transistion. personally lost and friends are my two fave all time shows so id love nothing more haha, now where can i reach david schwimmer??? lol
Do you mean “Duane Hopwood”?
Oh I love that guy. I never really watched Friends (I know, I think I’m the only one on the planet) But Studio 60 was great. I adored that show and watched it faithfully.
If I need a reason to like him now though, (I didn’t!) knowing that anyone is a LOST fan and even halfway as obsessed as I/we am/are… makes me want to go back and watch some of his other stuff! I wonder if they can work him in… maybe has a redshirt with a gruesome death or something…. he can at least say Hey! I did LOST!
It would be hilarious to see Chandler Bing share a few lines with Sawyer, Hurley or even Ben
JACOB! Chandler Bing as Jacob!
John Terry will be sitting out Season 6. He will be replaced by aspiring, ahem, actor, Joey Tribbiani.
Ooh, I think I just gave myself an ulcer!
yay!! now we are talking!! all we need now is marcell the monkey to make an appearance and we are in business!
hay guyz
wow matthew perry cant spell!!! thats bad for a writer/actor/producer lol
That has to be you, prof.
Ok guys…I’ll admit it…I am Matthew Perry.
Hah, you’re lying! You’re not the real Matthew Perry. See that comment above you? That is the real Matthew Perry! He even uses his real name as his nickname. How cool’s that?!
See that picture? Add some make-up, and he should have been Radzinsky.
i think he deserves at least a walk on part!!! maybe he could be play workman number 7 or chef number 6!
He was always my favorite friend! I love him!
Maybe they could show him on someone’s TV set or something…
Hi Matthew!
He could do a cameo like Billy Dee Williams did in Expose, and just be himself. He could run into Hurley off island somewhere in an O6 flashback, and Hurley could say
“Dude, you’re Chandler!” and he would say “Dude, you’re O6!”
Yeah,
THAT sounds like the Chandler we all know & love!
He’s a terrific dramatic actor. Studio 60 definitely didn’t make me think “Chandler.”
I’d love to see him on LOST.
There were alot of people in the back of the Anjira plane that we didn’t see. There’s a part for you!
