matthew_fox_01It appears that Matthew Fox is done with television after LOST comes to an end.  Here is a little bit of what he had to say:

Matthew Fox won’t make another TV show when Lost ends.

The actor – who plays Dr Jack Shephard in the cult US series – believes his small-screen career will be over when the programme finishes at the end of season six next year.

He said: “I’m pretty sure that will be the last television thing that I will do.”

Loved him in the movie Vantage Point.

Is he trying to be another David Caruso? Look at what happened to him. He’s back on TV. Or is Fox trying to be more like George Clooney?

    • CelticFan96 says:

Both Caruso and Clooney left hit shows to make movies. It worked out for Clooney, not for Caruso. But Fox is leaving TV for movies after completing a hit show. This is rather standard.

The question is if it becomes a successful move like it did for TV actors like Bruce Willis and Will Smith.

      • Beena says:

Without question, Bruce and Will are better on the big screen than they were on tv. But as many movies as Clooney has been in, I still think he was a better tv actor. A lot of his movies have tanked. Maybe it’s the “Batman curse”. I think he’s just suited in his acting abilities to only certain types of roles. JMO. As for Caruso, though he hasn’t been in a lot of movies, I can say that he’s been good in just about everything I’ve ever seen him in. Fox has a good range, and could probably play a wide variety of characters believably. But for us die-hard LOST fans, he’s always going to be Jack the surgeon who crashed on the island no matter who else he tries to play. The association will be difficult to break. vantage Point was one of those movies where you really have to pay attention…but in spite of that, in the back of my mind, every time Fox was on the screen, I still think of Jack and LOST!

  3. I’ve been browsing around your blog for a while but I just had to comment on this post, great stuff!
