Is there going to be a Part 2, or are you waiting for Wednesday now? I've re-watched the Teaser portion of the episode scene-by-scene with your post open on my laptop, but I couldn't go any further....

Actually, I'm hoping to do that! I wanted to start a few weeks after the Season 5 finale (since the finale will take especially long to dissect).

My plan is to start at the pilot and go right on through the end of season four, one a week.

I actually have to agree. The screenshots do help. It's sort of a balance. Last week, I had some comments saying that they preferred my first essay-like analysis that went in-depth into the meanings since the screenshots usually were accompanied by only a sentence or two. I'm still figuring out where I want to take this column and I think it'll end up with screenshots of key visual meanings and paragraphs on editorial/directorial elements.

I really enjoy this new column you're doing. It's certainly a new and unique form of Lost analysis, unlike anything I've seen.

It's truly fascinating how much depth there is in the film making portion of the show. I'll definitely continue to look forward to this column each week.

I have to say, the first installment, last week, was more enjoyable for me only because of the screen-shots that accompanied your comments. To me, that's what this form of analysis is all about; breaking down the hidden voices of cinematic and directorial storytelling that we all experience, but have never consciously noticed before.

I'll continue to enjoy and follow your column each week either way, but the screen shots really help (me, at least) to lock-in and connect with your analysis.

Thanks again for the enlightenment.

Fantastic as usual. Ive long been aware of the effect of location, camera angle, and all of that and Its something I've enjoyed as I feel that rather than destroy the illusion that I am appreciating the show on another level. Recently I have decided to give up theorizing because I felt it hurt my enjoyment of the show. However, I have to say that these new segments along with the other technical articles on this site and others that I have found a whole new way to delve deeper into the greatest show on television.

Thank you again nato64, docarzt, and all the other contributors who have not stopped exploring this show from any angle, whether it be theories, screenshots, literature, easter eggs, hidden meaning, and now the superb technical aspects.

Seriously, I love these.
I never knew how much television was psychologically manipulating me, and it's a blast to find out!
