Yeah well, I stumbled upon this trick years ago, it's so simple really and can work on any OS (there's an equivalent to that hosts file in every recent OS out there - I think). It's like many things in life: its simplicity makes it damn brilliant :)
The tricky part is to find the ad source, and also the effect is not immediate after you update the file. You might need to empty your browser cache and in some cases restart it. I remember I had a pretty hard time figuring how to remove those bitching ads from your site. I mean, I can already barely stand stupid animated ads, but when there's SOUND in them... that's WAY too intrusive.

Yeah, I realised that after looking for it.
Bah, only a couple of weeks to wait. That'll give me some time to finish watching season 2 of Californication =)

If you're under Windows, Google Mike Skallas. It's a text file which "redirects" ad servers to your own PC, where the ads can't be found. It's completely harmless and doesn't require you to install 400 different super-duper blocker.

If you still get ads, try to find where they come from (by inspecting the page source HTML) and add the server to your hosts file (on Win XP it's in c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc - even though it has no extension, you can open it with Notepad or any text editor)

Now if you can't reach that folder or don't see the file, you might need to tweak some settings of your Windows Explorer - just let me know if that's the case.

I wonder whether Flash Forward would be coming to television without the success of Lost. ABC is looking ahead and attempting to fill the crater sized hole Lost will leave when the series is over.

Either way, I will give it a try and avoid the novel to prevent any influence it may have over my judgement. I will also be watching V. I watch the damn thing when the original televisions movies and series aired and I am looking forward to seeing the new interpretation...I refuse to call it a re-imagining.

This show is based on a novel by the same name, so definatly no rip-off of LOST there. The only similarities I see between the book (I've not seen the pilot) and LOST is that it is an ensemble cast and that there is an element of momentary time displacement.

Ah, I follow you now - and agree 100%. Dom is definitely stunt casting here, no question about it. That said, we should some traction simply based on the fact that it is an ensemble mystery show.

I wasn't saying the two shows are exactly the alike. What I am suggesting is that they are attempting to channel the established fan base of Lost by creating a similarly structured show. Superficially the show shares similarities with Village of the Damned.

I would also argue that the name itself, Flash Forward, a term not coined by Lost but heavily associated and pophttp://www.docarzt.com/lost/exclusive-dominic-monaghan-on-flashforward/#commentsularized by it, is a indication of their attempt to draw a connection between the two shows.

I also believe it is no coincidence that the show is being hyped around the possible inclusion of Lost fan favorite, Dominic Monaghan.

Again, I will give the show every chance and I hoped to be pleasantly surprised. And of course, Watching Sonya Walger is never a difficult task.

In case nobody gets the joke, a couple of sites released this video as an 'exclusive' this morning. So my title is sort of a parody. Before you shame me, shame the folks who are afraid to tell you where they got the video from.

Doc, I really wish you'd get rid of the intrusive pop-up ads here. I have my system set to block pop-ups, and yet those on your site come up anyway. It's very annoying.

i watched too and i don't see it as the new LOST and i'm agree with doc, there is different story but i think i can see the "LOST aspect" 'cause it's a show where you want answer as for LOST lol

Eh, to me it's apples and oranges. I think it is a little unfair to FlashForward that it is constantly pegged as "the next LOST." It's certainly its own story.

I also saw the pilot and my first impression was that Flash Forward was trying to ride the coat tails of Lost. However, I will give the show a chance
