The writers probably dont know which statue it is, they probably just wanted something egyptian. I think the statue is not integral, and i would be more concerned as to whether or not they will really be able to explain the numbers, the experiments, and the equations whilst messing around with the shows child like relationships. They did a poor job of the O6's complete lack of interest into any of the strange time travel/teleportation events. Its like all Jack cares about is saving people, but most of them were just cannon fodder for the action scenes. Also, they changed the whole plot when they wrote Eko out, so is the nigerian plane even relevant anymore? My point is - the clock is ticking and one week of hiatus has created an entire community obsessed with the significance of an obtuse statue. If we are lucky, Lindlehoffs poker face is concealing an explanation rather than the fear of a million lost viewers being pissed off!

Also, never said that he didn't have feelings for her - just that there was something fishy. After all, Lost fans shouldn't ever take things at face value, right?

Whilst I agree that characters can evolve - I think it more of a discredit to say that their old characters (developed and revealed over 5 seasons) have just disappeared after 1 episode.

I've said it before - we've only seen the first day and the last two days of their time in 70s Dharma. We have no idea what has happened in the past three years.

I think that the entire point of the James-Juliet pairing is that characters on Lost can EVOLVE!

Isn't one of the most significant features of the island the fact that it lets you start over?
Sawer was a con-man off the island, he was a con-man after the crash, but that had to do with the fact that he refused to let himself get close to anyone. He hated himself and wanted others to hate him, as well.
He's dealt with his past - confronting the original "Sawer," and has learned that it's okay to let people get a little close.
He accepted a position of leadership, taking responsibility for his fellow time-travelers by making the decision to tell the lie of where they came from. A lie that was necessary for their survival
He took responsibility for his own actions (and those of his group) when talked to Richard about the encounter in which they met Amy. And I think it's worth noting that he did not lie to Richard.

To say that he can't have feelings for Juliet, or vice versa, is a serious discredit to the characters that have been so well developed up to this point.
He had his emotions toyed with by Kate, I don't think that he would do that to Juliet.
He has no reason to distance himself from the few people who actually know who he is and what he's been through.

Yeah, lame.

Juliet again - why does she always cut people off before they get to the good stuff. Like when John was questioning young Widmore in the 50's. Fishy, I tell ye.

@ Dolce:

Yes, he does know that he has a daughter by Cassidy and he knows her name.

Remember when Sawyer was in prison (3.04 Every Man For Himself) and he earned himself a stake of some stolen money and told the warden to put it all in an account for Clementine in Albuquerque, with no way for her to trace the money's source? After he had denied that Clementine was his to Cassidy earlier in the episode?

Well there are rumours about who it is - but I'd like to think the reveal will have more gravity than that. The rumoured name would have been a biggie - but not enough to delay it for another 2 weeks.

I think Juliet is still hiding things too - seems like she's got something up her sleeve. Remember that she was utilised by the Others to work on Jack when he was in the Hydra cage - so I'd say her con skills are almost on a par with Saywer's.

I'm not sure if I'm saying the relationship is a fake - but there's something fishy. Do the houses in New Otherton/Dharmaville have the surveillance cameras in at this stage?

Good ol' Sawyer, believing in Locke like that.

Amy's baby can't be Jacob. When Locke went into the Others' camp in '54 (?) he told Alpert that Jacob sent him and that obviously held weight with Alpert. I guess if it is some reincarnation of Jacob it could work. What do you think? Yes/no?

It hasn't been explicitly said, no. So you didn't miss anything. For this theory to work you have to assume that Sawyer mentioned Clementine to Kate before he jumped from the chopper in last year's finale.

Kate did tell Jack she was doing something for Sawyer, and that she wasn't going to tell Jack about it because she made a promise to Sawyer. But we're still guessing that it had to do with Clem and Cass.

I think the point of the enunciation on Juliet's look after she quick-drawed that filthy hostel scum (kidding) is just trying to reiterate the point that Juliet can seriously hold her own. They had the same sort of moment in The Little Prince when the gang was on the Zodiac and had shots fired at them from a canoe, at which point Juliet returned fire and (apparently) killed one of the assailants from like, deep. She's an olympic marksmen, i guess.

I think the point of the enunciation on Juliet’s look after she quick-drawed that filthy hostel scum (kidding) is just trying to reiterate the point that Juliet can seriously hold her own. They had the same sort of moment in The Little Prince when the gang was on the Zodiac and had shots fired at them from a canoe, at which point Juliet returned fire and (apparently) killed one of the assailants from like, deep. She’s an olympic marksmen, i guess.

I was waiting for someone else to say this. It crossed my mind but I am not good with theorising about this show, I thought I better shut up :) It all looked too sweet even. The whole walking along smiling, picking up the flower, smelling it, Jules cooking, I believe in you, and all that other jazz. If Sawyer had woken up in a cold sweat in the next scene as if he had just had a nightmare it would have been more believable to me. Plus, I can't do a re-watch but did anyone else think Juliet shot one of the kidnappers a bit too quickly? I think even Sawyer gave her a look. The hostile did not seem an immediate threat to Sawyer at the time and Sawyer was the one holding a gun, so that shot from Jules seemed to have come out of nowhere for no reason. I know Sawyer shot the 2nd guy but did Jules take the "I got your back" thing too seriously or does she know something we don't? We must remember, she has now been on that Island for 6 years. Longer than any of our Losties. There must be more to it than Juliet staying back because of Sawyer.

Also, it makes no sense that Sawyer and Juliet are supposedly so happy together and yet, Sawyer and Jin were still obsessed with waiting and finding thre 06.

that's a good point...he is starting off this new life with a lot of lies. I personally think he has more dedication to John and his mission ("As long as it takes...") and is just enjoying what time and luxury the island will afford him until It calls him back into the fray.

I think we've got to remember that Sawyer is a conman - working a fake name and fake background to fit into 70s Dharma. What else is he faking? To me, there's something fishy about the Juliet thing - we've only seen the first day and the last two of 70s Dharma, we have no idea what schemes he's cooked up in the meantime to keep everyone from taking the sub. I think his conversation with Jin about area sweeps/co-ordinates shows he's still dedicated to bringing O6 back - he believed in John.

It may be completely wrong - but I'm just not buying the Sawyer-LeFleur transistion. He's still the Polar Bear shooting son-of-a-bitch underneath it all.

Any one else feel that 1 episode is not long enough for the survivors to tell their story, compared to the whole of season 4 for the O6? Hope there is more.
