TheCabin1.jpegNow that we have seen some actual schematics of the Cabin, the very nature of the structure is called into question.

The schematics are found in Goodspeed's pocket and he says that he was building it for his wife Olivia and himself to get away from the Dharma Initiative. But the plans have a suspicious Dharma look and feel to them.

Was Goodspeed trying to "get away" from Dharma, or was he secretly building his own station? We know that Dharma lied to the inhabitants of the stations, so is the Cabin actually the Orchid? Or is it Goodspeed's own Orchid or magic box? Is it possible he was working outside of Dharma and in opposition to Ben or the previous Other's leader and that's why he was purged?

TheCabin2.jpegAnd more importantly, how did Jacob come to claim the cabin? Is Horace actually Jacob? Was Jacob helping Horace build it? Maybe they both worked at the Orchid. What is the significance of both the Island and the Cabin having the ability to move?

Did you see Ben's face when Locke found Horace's corpse and went searching in his pocket. He looked shocked/terrified.

Not sure yet what to make of it, but Horace is clearly much more important than we initially thought.

After the purge, Ben walked over to Horace who was on a bench, dead and Ben did look remorseful. If I'm not mistaken he even closed Horace's eyes like he did Alex.
Maybe we'll see more of Horace and Ben in backstories

I'm thinking that the orchid is in Ben's house. I believe that's where he goes behind the hieroglyphic door. However the cabin and Horace could have something to do with teleportation experiments a la the Philadelphia experiment...

Remember that info that Doc spilled about the Orcid Set being the biggest Dharma set so far, with multiple levels each with its own purpose. That kinda rules out Ben's house and the cabin in my thoughts....but who knows just how expansive secret doors begetting secret doors there are in his house or the cabin.

I'm thinking Locke is supposed to be the "star child" of the island... just like Dave Bowman in 2001: A Space Odyssey. Something tells me this is a bad idea and Locke's really key to the story is to overcome the forces on the island and put it to rest once and for all.

I think it's pretty clear that Horace isn't Jacob, but that Jacob wasn't above using Horace's dream-self to deliver the needed message to Locke.

Also, no...the cabin isn't The Orchid. The Orchid is a station complete with its own orientation film and has to do with "Casimir Effects" (thereby heavily implying wormholes). We haven't seen that station yet, but an "outtake" from the Orchid orientation film is readily available on YouTube.

the cabin was made from trees on the island. essentially, the cabin is PART OF the island. maybe that has something to do with its ability to teleport around.

Or, the reason the cabin moves is that in each loop of time, Horace builds the cabin in a different location.

If Horace was building a new station, it's the most brokeass station I've ever seen.

Sorry Horace. I'm an ass.

If the cabin can move, maybe it can also change the way it looks to someone. Maybe the cabin is not what it seems either inside or outside.

I think the mention of moving the island is not referring to moving it physically, but Locke is instead referring to moving the island "in time". That is why we see two Kates, etc in the preview for next week. This also fits "The best theory I have ever come across" - see the forums for a quick read that explains much of the weird stuff going on on the island.

If there are any Twin Peaks aficionado's floating around here, am I the only person getting a REALLY strong Black Lodge vibe from the Cabin and its current occupants?

Anyone?

Locke is definately the 5th n final Cylon. Jacob knows the way to Earth. Cant wait for the next ep.
