All the speculation over what mind bending 'Flashforward-esque', 'we found it', 'Waaaaalt' moment would come at the end of this years finale? Yeah, forget that. According to Damon himself, this years finale is more of a heart-in-your-throat style ending.
In an article at HollywoodReporter Lindelof had this to say: "The finale this year will not be as tricky as last year," he said. "Hopefully, this year it's a little bit more of a straightforward action-adventure narrative. But the ending of the episode will hopefully engage and intrigue people looking forward to the next season of the show."
Now, before we all groan... let's remember that the "Frozen Donkey Wheel" is not supposed to be the final scene of the finale. (Phew). So, there will definitely be SOMETHING unusual, but what?

Why does there need to be an awesome reveal or twist? Geez, just let the show play out. If the finale's great, the finale's great. Why does it need a cliffhanger?
Why would I be groaning. I'm sure by now we should all know that the finale is going to be awesome.
