Picture the odometer... The normal one would read 48151.6, and the trip would read 234.2.
But I know next to nothing about cars, so I'm not sure if an early 70s Camaro would have included a trip odometer... But it's restored, so if it's not original, Hurley's dad could have added one.

Zack, good point with the odometer and the trip. Forgot about the trip. Definitely doable then.
slucas, i like your thought of 'claire's mother' vs the previous suggestion of Jack's mother. we already know that jack's mother will be there, so she's no surprise. i was originally thinking a guest appearance by Billy D Williams, but Claire's mother is a better fit for sure.
