I.LOVE.LOST!!! This ep was AWESOME!
I dont think they are really home I think they are just being tricked to think they are actually home
Anybody find it strange that Farraday immediately turned the Zodiac around to return to the island after dropping Sun, Jin and the other losties at the freighter? Wouldn't you want to make sure you have enough gas to make the trip? Isn't it something like 5 miles between the freighter and the island?
My God! 2 damn weeks! this was a good ep i did not want it to stop, will jin die? how on earth are there only 6? when we see that more got on the boat. I guess kimey dies cause we see ben talking to jack guess the others help.
My bets:
Sun is using Paik to find the island, and therefore find Jin.
Those who are still on the island are those who will be rescued - somehow, Juliet and Sun/Aaron must switch places.
Jack gets to Hurley before Locke enters the Orchid, as we see him speak to Locke in the preview.
Alpert also can't die - what? No idea what his group is up to right now.
That boat is going to blow up eventually, so i think that explains how there are only 6 , Desmond will make it, not sure about Michael and Jin, I would think Jin would make it.
The scene leading up to Ben turning himself in.. When there is just music playing, and the camera moves from Sun to Jack and Sawyer, to Kate and Sayid, etc.. Very, very powerful. One of my favorite Lost moments!! Great episode!!
Good episode(well, they're all good aren't they?)yet not great like last weeks - hang on the edge of the popcorn bowl - great. I know the writers have to flesh out certain people, issues, etc. For me tonight's show was sorta - okay, the Oceanic 6 (5, really since little Aaron can't talk)answered questions. I didn't catch anythig we haven't already been told, though.
I felt sorry for Kate not having a loved one at the terminal to give her a hug. Still, she does have Aaron and is indeed hugging him. That's gonna be tough on Aaron to start the bottle after having the "real stuff" for so long from Real Mama - maybe not; I don't remember the difference myself after 45 years!
Great scenes, as usual, with Ben, Hurley, and Locke. Wonderful banter thrown by each of them. Could Ben have bugged his eyes out any farther than he did to Locke at the Orchid Station? Yes, he does seem to always have a plan.
My wife and I laughed and had to rewind it 3 times - Ben (Lemur) Linus - Ha, just thought of that one!
Poor Dez Brotha is reduced to tossing down the rope ladder and not much else? I miss the stationary bike - riding, protein shake - swilling bloke who punched in those numbers every few minutes.
Doesn't Jack's mother resemble Kate? She looks like Hil Street Blues' Veronica Hamel to me.
Priceless Jack reaction to Claire's mother's revelation that Jack has/had a half sis.
Loved Hurley answering when the reporter asked about the 6 looking so well fed and was that directed at him, dude!
Why didn't Kate tell Claire's mum(I couldn't stop looking at the facial growth on her)she had a grandson?!?
Ahh, Richard Alpert, I hoped I'd see you this week. He doesn't even have to talk to ooze intensity. He replaces Sawyer and Jack for me as Most Attractive Man in the show. Of course, he could actually be so so much older if he's time tripping. Back to the fatiguey sleeveless outfits for the Others. I don't wan to wait 2 weeks for the next Lost because Grey's Lobotomy(mine) has a finale. However, I'm thankful tonight's Lost was enjoyable and I'm excited about the Final Two!
pecantree, that IS Veronica Hamel. It's just been awhile since her Hill Street Blues days. ;)
Thank you, Awake! I thought so. She's still very attrctive. I loved her and the police captain, Turillo?, together in HSB. Mama, I'm older than I thought!
You're welcome, peacantree! It was a great show. And innovative as well, so it's fitting that she is now on LOST. I hope I look that good in my mid-sixties (a girl can dream).
I still find it hard to believe that no one (reporters?) are asking why the plane crash landed west of Australia when the flight was going from Sydney to LA (east).....I'm guessing there's some infinite wisdom here that I'm just not picking up on because I can't believe the writers would accidentally leave such a gaping hole in plotline.
Not sure about this... but was the captain played by a different actor in this episode? He was only in the episode for a brief second, but it didn't seem like the same guy to me... anyone else notice that?
The captain is dead!
Didn't the captain say they were flying off course for an hour or two before the crash? Could that explain why they are saying they crashed where they did? Not sure, just trying to think
yea... i'm an idiot. i thought about that a little while ago. i think the guy that was piloting the ship looked enough like the captain that it fooled me. :p
This may be considered a spoiler as it relates to the nature of Keamy's device on his arm, so consider yourself warned.
This may seem fairly obvious, but I havent seen it mentioned so ill put it out there, Id be willin to bet that the device on Keamy's arm tracks his heartrate, and if he were to die, the boat would then blow up. Kind of like a failsafe just in case. This theory is reinforced when we look at last episode when Keamy warns the captain not to shoot him, in a you do it and we all die kinda way.
Any thoughts?

They never said it crashed west of Australia... it crashed east of it, in islands in/near all those crazy indonesian islands, and thats what they showed on the map.. mumtamba or something other...theory 156, good idea, but it has been presented many many times over, and alot on this site =) no worries though, i am with you on that as well... pecantree, i think she didnt tell claires MOM, bc that would blow the whole story, and I dont think she heard her. It was a private convo, and prob why after kates trial, that Jack wont initially see the baby. I just dont understand why Jack would not want to be a pat of his nephews life after all that happened. But at least he changed his mind. It makes the scene in the Jack appendectomy ep, that much better knowing he knows Aaron is his blood and tells kate "you arent even related to him!" haha
"They never said it crashed west of Australia... it crashed east of it, in islands in/near all those crazy indonesian islands, and thats what they showed on the map"
The Oceanic spokeswoman said the plane crashed off the coast of Sumba, Indonesia (There's also a Sumba in the Fahroe Islands near Iceland... Interesting...), which is about 1200 miles east of Sydney.
Not sure how they'll explain that...
I'm pretty sure the boat is going to go boom. Remember in the story Admiral Cain (sorry non-BSG fans, the Oceanic Rep) told the reporters, a boat washed on shore with supplies. The best way to lie is to pepper it with the truth. Methinks that they got the idea for the boat by seeing the freighter wash onshore after going kablooey?
Then again, who knows?
Amazing episode, it really did have the "finale" vibe even though we don't get the end for two weeks.
There's a simple explanation for the (fake) location of the "rescue" - there was a huge storm so they went off course to try and avoid it. It's actually what really happened, although the fake version went a different direction than the real one.
The reveal to Jack about his half sister was brilliant, especially since it also revealed that Claire's mom is alive and well, and that she met her own grandson but didn't know it.
It will be interesting to see the logistics of how the Six end up together. I'm starting to suspect that the ship gets blown up and they are rescued some other way straight from the island. It's hard to imagine a scenario where all the six end up together but separated from everyone else.
So how is Aaron hanging in there since mom is gone and no source of milk (or formula)? Must be starving by now.
I'm very glad that it turned out that Kate lied about Aaron being her biological son, the theory that she just adopted him would have been too stupid to handle. Although her cover story is full of holes, I'm glad the reporter brought up that she must have been six months pregnant on the plane - I hope that is addressed more.
At Kate's trial, Jack testified that Kate was the hero on the beach saving people from the wreckage.
But at the press conference, he told everyone that they crashed in water and floated for a day or so until they washed up on land. Is this a huge error in continuity or a clue to yet another plot twist? If it's a plot twist, why would he be credible at Kate's trial after having lied??
I don't know if there are any other NYC Lost lovers here but I wanted to share that there's a LOST BAR in Manhattan where every Thursday night a bunch of strangers get together with one aspect in common -- we love this show.
The entire bar watches the episode. It's dead quiet until commercials when the place is buzzing. Every week the bar plays a drinking game. This week it was "IF SOMEONE GETS SHOT ON THE FREIGHTER" then everyone gets a free shot of Jungle Juice.
Very awesome place to be on a Thursday night.
It's at 2nd Ave between 13th & 14th St.
That was a very fun episode, and the first time I gained any respect for Sun. Loved how she Bruce Wayne'ed her dad.
@pecantree"Why didn't Kate tell Claire's mum she had a grandson?!?"
Because Kate didn't hear the conversation. Not that she would have told her anyway...
I'm new here, hope I don't write something completely stupid. Thanks for that NY LOST bar info, I'm in eastern NJ so that is very appealing for the finale in 2 weeks. I think at Kate's trial, Jack said she pulled people out of the plane wreckage and helped get them to the island beach. Not sure, will have to try to go back and watch that episode on my DVR. Can I comment on something from last week's episode?
@ Heidi that was the stupidest thing ever posted. Just kidding. :o)
As for the trial, Jack said:
"Only 8 of us survived the crash. We landed in the water. I was hurt, pretty badly. In fact, if it weren't for her, I would have never made it to the shore. She took care of me. She took care of all of us. She...she gave us first aid, water, found food, made shelter. She tried to save the other 2, but they didn't..."
So, he didn't say that she dragged them, just that they wouldn't have made it without her.

I don't think that's true. If memory serves, after Claire's mom left Kate and Jack both sort of stared at each other in shock and disbelief. I think Kate definitely overheard the conversation but didn't tell Claire's mom, well, because she can't. They have to stick to their cover-up.
I'm sort of curious as to the Others' clothing. Last we saw them was when Ben sent them off to the Temple (weren't we supposed to see that this season?!?!) and they were all in their Land's End finest. Now we see them and there back in their "savage" outfits. I wonder why...
Very, very, very awesome episode!
I love the montage ending! totally wicked. It is now one of my top ten LOST moments.
But my personal fav part was when they said it crashed in Indonesia!
Wow. They were in my country the whole my time. Haha...
But I got to say, I hate that they're showing the last 2 hours 2 more weeks.
You see, I'm still in high school. And they're showing the season finale when I have my final exams. And that sucks........BIG time!
Hope you guys have fun watching it 2 more weeks. I have to watch 3 more weeks. huhu....
But still, LOST rocks!!!!
