Doc J is a bit under the weather this week, so he has gone the road of dropping discussion points rather than a full recap. Get well soon Doc Jensen!
You can read his full recap here.
The major discussion points:
- "This is my interpretation of what went down: Desmond's Island-present consciousness was displaced by his Island-past consciousness. Then, that 1996 mind toggled back and forth through the entire episode while Island consciousness remained MIA until the end of the show."
- What is the freighter's agenda?
- Did Ben's 'Man on the Boat" sabotage the communications systems?
- What's Papa Widmore's interest in the journal of the Black Rock's First Mate? Doc J thinks it has to do with discerning the location of our favorite Island.
- Should the tear-jerking Des-Pen phone call make us feel hopeful for the fate of these two star-crossed lovers? Or are we being set up for a huge let-down if Desmond can't stop those nosebleeds?

I would think the nosebleeds/aneurysm risk would stop once Desmond established his constant. As Faraday said, Elouise died of an aneurysm because her brain couldn't figure out where it was supposed to be. Or something like that. The same thing happened to Minkowski because he "couldn't get back". Minkowski couldn't get back because he didn't have anything to get back to. Desmond has his constant now, in Penny. I think he'll be OK.
I think Desmond will be okay (and i WANT Desmond to be ok ). I also do think Ben's "man on the boat" sabotaged the equipment. Maybe to help stop or delay them frieghties finding the island.
I mean THE frieghties...i don't know how that m got in there ;)
Yeah, I think des will be ok, he got his "constant", his anchor so to speak. Also, whoever left the door open, and destroyed the equipment, i think is ben's guy on the boat... possibly frank?
Des told Sayid after the phone cut out that "it was enough."
I took this to mean he had successfully established his "constant" and would not suffer the same fate as the other nose-bleeders.
Does anyone else think Micheal could be Ben's man on the boat?
Bens man on the boat????
Its gotta be michael ;)
