Hell has frozen over. LOST has broken its two season streak and managed to redeem itself in the eyes of the EMMY nomination folks. Sure, it has received various noms over the past two seasons, and some terrific and long overdue wins (Terry O'Quinn, anybody?), but the Best Drama Category has evaded it. No longer.
The only dissapointments this year are in the directing and writing categories. LOST did not earn noms in those categories. One of the great paradoxes of the EMMY nominating process is that a show can receive a best series nom without earning any noms for Lead Actors, Writers, and Directors. Logic? Who knows. The Constant was the best freakin' drama episode I have ever seen. Failing to get a nom in the writing category is a crime, imo.
More noms would have been great, but I'll settle for best drama and Michael Emerson. He BETTER win.
