Kristin at E! interviewed Darlton yesterday and asked many of the questions we all had following "Cabin Fever":
"Among the findings in this interview:
- The question is not whether Claire is dead but "What happened to Claire?"
- Christian Shephard is dead.
- Time travel is definitely happening on this show.
- Sounds to me like Richard Alpert is doing it. (Remind me later of a theory I have relating to time travel and the knocking up of Losties' moms!)
- They were surprised by today's "announcement" of two extra episodes in season five and six.
- They know whom Kate will end up with in the very end. "

Hopefully by the end of the series, Kate will end up in the cold embrace of the grave.
Well aren't you a fan and a ray of sunshine!
jimmy -
LOL! Love Evie, hate Kate.
jimmy - amazing. I have often had the same thoughts. For some reason I had this theory that she was going to get killed off in the finale of season 3. Then when it was over (after a power outage that made our viewing party miss the last couple minutes) I realized her future was solidified so to speak.
Hopefully she dies. I couldn't care less about her storyline. The love triangle isn't horrible, but the love-triangle fans are. On the other hand, they help keep the ratings up so Lost stays on the air :\
All that to say, I motion that the Kill Kate 2008 (and 9 and 10 if need be) campaign begin NOW.
Also, I found THIS to be interesting: [re: Penny] All we can say is that there's a lot more to tell about that story, but hopefully you will have a better sense of that over the summer.
Sounds like we have our first plot inkling for The Lost Experience 2.0. I wonder how they're going to kick that off? Another commercial maybe?

JimmyZ, hahahahahaha. I can't stand how they write Kate sometimes: she's the cold-blooded murderer who wouldn't have thought twice about blowing Aldo's knee to bits if he didn't tell her, James and Alex (SOB) where Karl was (SOB), but then she turns to jelly around Jack. I mean, once, just *once*, I want Jack to start yelling at her like he does, and instead of her crying and going "Jack... (SOB) Jack..." she punches him in the throat.
It's just me, but I can't stand statements like this from Kristin: Well, you guys know that the fans are very passionate about how the romantic storylines go on the show. No, Kristin, SOME fans are passionate about that stuff. I simply don't care who Kate ends up with, it doesn't matter to me or any of my friends that watch the show.
Jimmy, that was perfect.
I agree, but I think that TPTB are going to have Kate do something heroic in the finale coming up to try and redeem her character. I have no clue what, but I think they will try.
yep i agree. i couldnt care less for the triangle. episodes that focus on the triangle are usually slow and a bit boring because you really just dont care anymore.
I remember reading a theory back in one of the first seasons relating to why mothers die and can't leave the island either.
As I don't recall it exactly, maybe it can serve as discussion fodder...
So this theory is all based on the idea that the island exists in a different time than 'real-time'. I think we all know this to be true by now, even if the time is off by a few minutes, hours, etc.
What this theory touched on was how a person needs to return to their proper time/space in the same form they left. With prego women, they originally came to the island as a woman or a prego woman, so arriving as one person and leaving as non-prego mother or mother with child born (two persons) just can't possibly be....hence the prego mother, i.e. Claire, can't leave the island should they wish to keep living.
Why do these mothers die upon giving birth? For the same reason as stated above. As soon as the child is born, the whole physics of you being the same person that were when you arrived in island time is now void and you and your baby dies. Why the baby too? Because he/she never existed in the previous time from which the mother came, so therefore there's no way the baby could exist in a future time, or past time.
Now, there's a ton of wholes in this theory as its been a couple years since I had to recall it, though I'd be interested in hearing some thoughts on it.
booo....
Kristin is an idiot. She is the poster girl for the most shallow, lowest common denominator TV viewers out there.
